Does the type of narcissism I was managing in my relationship affect my healing? (yes)
Healing from Narcissistic Relationships
July 2025
Month Overview:
This month will do a few things. It will be a review of the narcissistic types (grandiose, malignant, vulnerable, communal -you know the drill), how they combine, how the different types affect us, how they show up in different relationships). We will also talk about how the dynamics of these different kinds of relationships related to the different types can affect us. As always this will be framed from a continuum model. We will think about this as it relates to developmental placement (childhood vs adulthood). And we will also pay attention to psychopathy and sociopathy this month (and the general dark tetrad -because people going through those types of relationships can sometimes feel unheard in the conversation about healing from narcissistic relationships). We will also touch base into terms that can be quite confusing like “borderline” and “histrionic” and how that can play into this “types” conversation.
